Career & Opportunity Matchmaking

You may not be looking for another job.
You may be looking for the right opportunity, direction, or people.

Some of the most meaningful career opportunities are never posted online.

A founder may need someone who can help build a new part of the business, but may not know what to call the role. A small business owner may be looking for a trusted operator, advisor, business development partner, or future leader. An experienced professional may have valuable skills and relationships, but may no longer fit into a standard job description.

Career & Opportunity Matchmaking brings these people together.

Matchmaker Amy takes a personal, relationship-based approach to career exploration and professional introductions. We look beyond résumés, titles, and keywords to understand the person, the opportunity, and whether there is real potential for both sides.

Find your direction. Meet the right people. Discover opportunities that may not exist on a job board.

Opportunities Beyond the Standard Job Description

Career & Opportunity Matchmaking may include introductions for:

  • Full-time or part-time roles

  • Startup and small-business positions

  • Fractional leadership and operating roles

  • Business development and relationship-building roles

  • Operations and project management

  • Founder support and executive assistance

  • Consulting and advisory engagements

  • Cross-cultural and cross-border business opportunities

  • Project-based and transitional work

  • Business partnerships and collaborative ventures

  • Second-career and career-transition opportunities

  • Roles that have not yet been formally created

We focus on thoughtful introductions rather than high-volume applications.

Every introduction depends on relevance, mutual interest, timing, and consent from both sides.

Who This Is For

For Professionals and Opportunity Seekers

This service may be right for you when:

You have valuable experience, but you are unsure what your next chapter should look like.

You are tired of applying for standard roles that do not reflect your full ability.

You want to work more closely with founders, business owners, or small teams.

You are changing industries or returning to work after time away.

You want more independence, responsibility, flexibility, or room to grow.

You have industry knowledge, relationships, cultural understanding, or practical skills that are difficult to explain on a résumé.

You are considering consulting, fractional work, entrepreneurship, or a second career.

You know you can contribute more, but you have not yet found the right environment.

You do not need to have everything figured out before speaking with us.

The process can begin with a conversation.

For Founders and Business Owners

You may not need another applicant.

You may need someone who understands your vision, earns your trust, and helps move the business forward.

We work with founders, entrepreneurs, professionals, and privately owned businesses that may be looking for:

  • An early or core team member

  • A trusted operator

  • A business development professional

  • A project or operations lead

  • A chief of staff or founder’s associate

  • A fractional executive or advisor

  • Someone who understands Chinese and American markets

  • A relationship-driven sales professional

  • A potential business partner

  • A versatile person who can take responsibility across several areas

  • A role that is important but not yet easy to define

We begin by understanding your business, leadership style, current challenges, working environment, and expectations.

Then we look for people whose abilities, goals, and way of working may fit what you are building.

How the Process Works

1. Private Career Conversation

We begin with a confidential conversation about where you are now and what you may want next.

For professionals, we discuss your work history, strengths, interests, preferred working style, income expectations, limitations, and long-term direction.

For founders and employers, we discuss the business, current needs, team structure, leadership style, budget, and the type of person who may succeed in the role.

2. Direction and Opportunity Mapping

Many people describe themselves through past job titles.

We help identify the value behind those titles.

This may include clarifying your strengths, repositioning your experience, identifying possible career directions, and developing a clearer way to introduce yourself to potential employers or collaborators.

For businesses, we may help define the actual need before defining the position.

Sometimes the right solution is not the role originally imagined.

3. Thoughtful Introductions

When we identify a potentially relevant connection, we first consider the interests and privacy of both sides.

We may make an introduction when there appears to be reasonable alignment in areas such as:

  • Experience and business needs

  • Working style

  • Values and expectations

  • Availability and compensation

  • Risk tolerance

  • Communication

  • Growth potential

  • Long-term direction

An introduction is an invitation to explore.

It is not a promise of employment, partnership, investment, income, or business success.

4. Conversation and Mutual Evaluation

Both sides decide whether they would like to continue the conversation.

The parties remain responsible for interviewing, reference checks, background checks, compensation discussions, contracts, worker classification, employment compliance, and final decisions.

Matchmaker Amy may help support communication, clarify expectations, and provide feedback when appropriate.

More Than a Job Search

Traditional recruiting begins with an open position.

Our process often begins before a position has been clearly defined.

We learn about your experience, strengths, working style, relationships, interests, financial goals, and current stage of life. We also look at the problems you are able to solve and the type of people and environment in which you are most likely to succeed.

From there, we help identify possible directions and introduce you to relevant founders, business owners, professionals, projects, and organizations within our extended network.

The opportunity may be a full-time position.

It may also become a fractional role, consulting engagement, business partnership, project-based collaboration, leadership opportunity, or an entirely new position created around a real business need.

Why Matchmaking?

A résumé may show where someone has worked.

It does not always show what they can build, whom they can connect, how they respond to uncertainty, or what kind of leader brings out their best work.

A job description may list responsibilities.

It does not always explain what the founder truly needs, what the team is struggling with, or how the role may grow over time.

Matchmaking creates space for a more complete conversation.

We look at the practical fit, the human fit, and the future that both sides may be able to create together.

Private, Selective, and Human

Career decisions can be sensitive.

A professional may be quietly considering a change. A founder may need to replace a team member confidentially. A business owner may want to explore a new project before announcing it publicly.

We do not publish personal profiles or share identifying information without permission.

Introductions are selective and based on our independent judgment about possible relevance. Not every client will receive an introduction, and not every introduction will lead to an offer or working relationship.

Our commitment is to provide thoughtful attention, honest feedback, professional discretion, and intentional connections.

What This Service Is Not

Career & Opportunity Matchmaking is not a job board, mass-application service, or guarantee of employment.

We do not guarantee interviews, offers, compensation, partnerships, investment, immigration outcomes, or business results.

Matchmaker Amy does not act as the employer and does not make hiring decisions for participating businesses.

Unless separately stated in writing, we do not provide legal, tax, immigration, financial, or human resources advice.

Businesses and professionals should consult qualified advisors before entering an employment, independent contractor, equity, investment, or partnership arrangement.

Start With a Conversation

You may be actively looking for work.

You may be considering a new direction.

You may be building a business and looking for a person you cannot find through a standard job posting.

You may simply know that something needs to change.

You do not need to know the exact title of the opportunity before we begin.

Tell us where you are now, what you are looking for, and what you may be ready to build next.
